Candystore Collective is a collaborative effort, owned by Jennifer Jones, Jenny Klowden, and Marilyn Jones. We originally began
as a temporary shop called Hot! (www.hot-sf.com) in December 2004, but decided to keep on keeping on by reopening our doors
as Candystore – San Francisco in June of 2005 with a bigger space, rentable studios for local designers (currently Talla and Cookie & the Dude), and clothing for women, men, and kids, in addition to all sorts of other stuff.
One of us is a designer, one a foodie, and the other a vintage hunter, and all of us at Candystore Collective love stuff, but we
were tired of homogenous stuff and mass-produced everything. The stuff we like to wear and fill our homes with and give as gifts should
mean something, else why bother? The world already has more stuff than it knows what to do with it. So we wanted to find the kind of
stuff that made us happy each and every time we looked at it, wore it, or thought about it.
And that stuff can come from anywhere in the world – we don’t care – we like the world and the many great designers and craftspeople
that come from all over – as long as their stuff is simply beautiful, or makes us laugh, is well made, handmade, was given a bunch of
thought, or has great story, was the result of a passion, an obsession, or just a plain old weekend hobby, or simply a great idea,
or made with love.
We know where everything comes from in our store, who made it, why we love it, and why you might like it too.
Plus we like vintage everything and old fashioned candy.
